What are the ingredients of white chocolate mocha?
Surprisingly enough, despite its rich flavor, white chocolate mocha consists of only four ingredients: coffee, milk, whipped cream and white chocolate chips. The art of preparing it depends on your skill to mix up those four things and the quality of the very ingredients. In the next couple of paragraphs, we’ll be talking some more about choosing and preparing them well.
Which is the best coffee for white chocolate mocha?
Theoretically, you can use any coffee type for preparing white chocolate mocha, but once you put it in action, not every coffee tastes the same in this combination. The best one for this drink is strong brewed coffee because it lends the drink the harshness that is later on downplayed by whipped cream and milk.
If you are going to cook strong brewed coffee, first you will need strong coffee beans. The beans you are using should be fresh, to be sure their taste and aroma are preserved. It is always better to grind the beans yourself, just to be safe. The finer the grind you get, the richer the flavor of the coffee is.
Also, you should use higher coffee to water ratio, approximately 2.5:6. As for the brewing itself, there are hundreds of different ways. For white strong brewed, it is a good idea Aeropress, French press or the Chemex.
Which milk to use for white chocolate mocha?
Just as with coffee, in theory, you could use any milk, ranging from cow to soy. We are strong advocates of using almond milk because it is much creamier and richer in texture and flavor than any other milk.
Besides, the nutty taste pairs well with coffee and white chocolate. Almond milk is available in almost any well-supplied grocery shop, but you can also make almond milk at home using raw almonds, water, and sweeteners to taste.
The secret of perfect whipped cream
You can buy already prepared whipped cream in almost any grocery store, but it will never have the same taste and texture as the one you prepare at home. So our advice is to do this one yourself, especially because it is super-easy.
To make the whipped cream you will need one pint of heavy whipping cream, a quarter cup of powdered sugar and one tablespoon of vanilla extract. You can try to whip it with a whisk or a hand mixer, but it yields the best results when mixed with the stand mixer. Don’t make a mistake of throwing all the ingredients into a bowl and mixing them right away. First blend in whipping cream and sugar and only then add the vanilla extract. Whisk on high speed until it becomes soft and fluffy.
How white chocolate chips bring in the pizzazz into this drink?
Finally, it is time to let the magic happen with white chocolate chips which give this drink that delicious white chocolate flavor which has captivated millions of people worldwide.
You can find these at any local grocery store, and almost every product is the same, but you should still check the label to see whether it contains a maximum of 55% in sweeteners, at least 20% cocoa butter, minimum 14% milk solids, and about 3.5% milk fat.
Let the magic begin: white chocolate mocha recipe
Now that you have collected all the necessary ingredients, brewed the coffee and whipped the cream, you are ready to learn how to make a white chocolate mocha at home.
Ingredients:
● 6 cups strong brewed coffee
● 2 cups almond milk (unsweetened would be better, because the sweetness will come from white chocolate, but if you like it really sweet you can use the sweetened milk)
● 1 cup white chocolate chips
● Whipped cream (optional – if you don’t like cream, you can make a perfectly good white chocolate mocha without cream)
Preparation:
1. Heat the milk in a small pot over medium heat until you see small bubbles forming around its edges.
2. Remove the milk from heat and blend in the white chocolate chips until smooth. This way you will get the syrup which can be bought in stores pre-prepared, but it is far more delicious like this.
3. To make a quick version of mocha add half of cup of syrup to 12 ounces of coffee and top with whipped cream.
4. To make latte version, pour half of the syrup to 12 ounces of coffee in a blender, and blend on medium for about one minute, that is until frothy. Pour the mixture into a large mug and top with whipped cream.
Beyond the drink…
This indulgent beautiful drink is definitely amazing on its own, but if you want to make something truly impressive, you can serve it with white chocolate mocha cookies – beautiful cookies packed with both dark and white chocolate flavors and are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Furthermore, you can decorate your white chocolate mocha mugs by sprinkling white or dark chocolate crumbles on top of the whipped cream. A chocolate stick or two on the side of the mug is also nice, both decoratively and taste-wise. If you want to experiment even further with the taste of white mocha, you can add some cinnamon or caramel into the drink. It will be just as delicious if not more, and it will have your signature.
